Explanation

“What these files are and how they behave”

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to keep, so that the site can remember something from one page or one visit to the next. Local storage is a similar feature that does not travel with each request. This page uses the word cookie for both, and lists every one that the website uses.

Consent begins switched off

Until a visitor chooses to accept, the website tells browsers and connected services that storage for advertising and analytics is denied. A visitor who ignores the banner is treated as having refused, and the choice, once made, is remembered so that the banner does not return.

Analytics and advertising tags

No analytics tool and no advertising network is active on this website today. A consent placeholder is built in, so that if one were added in future, it would remain inactive until the visitor agreed. This page would be changed before any such tag was switched on.

The kinds of file we use

The two local-storage keys are functional: one records an age confirmation, the other a consent choice. The map is the only element that belongs to another company. There are no tracking files of the house's own, and nothing here follows a visitor from one website to another.

How long files last

The two keys remain until the visitor clears the site data in the browser, which can be done at any time and which brings the banner and the age question back. The map's cookies follow Google's schedule, described in the policy that Google publishes.

A visitor who wishes to look at the records can open the browser's developer tools or its site-data settings, where the two keys appear under the name of this website. They contain only a short value each, and nothing in them identifies a person. Clearing them is harmless, and the site works the same afterwards.

Questions

If anything on this page is unclear, telephone the lounge or write to the address in the footer, and I shall explain it in ordinary words. I would rather answer a question than have a visitor wonder what the website is doing in the background.
